Obituary of Barbara Ann Chaplin

BARBARA CHAPLIN Barbara, born November 15, 1932, in Windsor, Ontario, daughter of Alfred and Sarah Ewer. She passed away at Chelsey Park nursing home in London, Ontario after a long illness. She is survived by her sister Betty Reaburn of Windsor, much loved daughter Judy Buchanan (Doug) and many nephews and nieces. Barbara loved being outdoors, from fishing in Florida to canoeing on the French River, in later years she became an avid gardener as everyone who visited her Lincoln road home could attest. Barbara always loved an occasion and seldom missed a chance to participate if one would arise. The Maple Leafs, the Red Wings, Coronation Street and all the dogs that Judy owned held a special place in her heart, above all there was Gus, the little lhasa/terrier who could still make her smile right to the end. The family would like to thank Chelsey Park Nursing Home, and especially the third floor staff for their care of Barbara thru this difficult illness. Their dedication, love and care were greatly appreciated. Join us in celebrating Barbara’s life; there will be a memorial service at Windsor Grove Cemetery Monday August 25th at 11:00 A.M. followed by lunch at Franco’s restaurant on Tecumseh Road. Barbara would have loved that you celebrate her life, so tonight put on a Frank Sinatra cd, mix a manhattan and toast a special woman that lived her life “her way”.
