I only met Kim a few times, but the superbly written obituary conveys his qualities of a caring, gentle family man. He left this world too early, but will live on in the memories of Shirley, his children, grandchildren and all who knew him. I hope you will be comforted by the time and experiences you shared. My thoughts are with your family at this difficult time.

Tears from Ipperwash hearing the news of your loss of such a fine man, husband, father and grandfather. As children "at the beach" for the summer, our families along with a handful of the original neighbourhood families, spent endless hours at the beach together day after day. The mothers would have afternoon tea or coffee, ( Dads would be home working) and the kids would be gone off in the bush, building forts, or collecting fossils, playing cards and games. Dreamy days. I particularly remember Kim trying to teach me to play chess - the board was set up on a tree stump but my childhood mind was not nearly as sharp as his. Kim's soul was rooted to the earth as a child, no wonder he grew up to become a fine educator and person. Linda (Halley) Courtney

I was deeply saddened to hear of Kim's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Geography, and his warmth and kindness always stood out. He had a way of brightening the room with his smile and showed genuine interest in everyone around him. My thoughts are with you and all who loved him during this difficult time. Erika Hill

My heartfelt condolences on the sudden passing of Kim. He was so lovingly proud of all his family. He shared so many memories and wonderful stories of you all during our daily Masonville Mall walks. He was a wonderful friend to meet and greet each morning. His intelligence, knowledge and passion on many subjects were intriguing. Such a genuine person and a great listener. May his memory continue to shine and sustain you all during these dark days of mourning. Laraine Hurwitz
