Obituary of Peter De Ryk
Peacefully at University Hospital, with family by his side, Peter A. de Ryk passed on his own terms, January 6, 2025 in his 84th year. Born to Peter and Coleta (de Bakker) de Ryk on April 10, 1941 in the Netherlands. Peter started his journey with family to Canada in 1949 and settled in Aylmer. He met and married the love of his life, Mona (Noels) and enjoyed 58 years together. He then became proud father of Angela, Marcia (Dave) Manchester and loving Grampy of Sarah. Step-grandfather of Jake (Katherine) Manchester. Survived by his brother, Frank, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Not only a loving family man , he also spent time coaching hockey, being a member of Big Brothers, and always eager to help others. He was active in fishing, playing hockey and golf with his buddies through the years. Vacations were a must and loved taking cruises with Mona. After 40 years he retired as Benefits Rep from Ford Motor Co Talbotville. Peter was a proud Canadian who loved sports, baking, woodworking, family and friends.
He chose to donate his body to Science for Medical Education as his Legacy. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Byron Legion, 1276 Commissioners Rd W, London from 1 – 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Living London, 190 Adelaide St S, London, N5Z 3L1.
