Obituary of James Ralph Poyntz
With saddened hearts we announce the passing of James (Jim) Ralph Poyntz. A loving Husband, Dad and Papa. He passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2025, at the age of 83 surrounded by his family. Born on January 5th, 1942, in Ingersoll Ontario, he was a dedicated son and brother to his predeceased Mother and Father Elsie and George Poyntz as well as his brother David Poyntz. Survived by his sister Mary and brother George.
Survived by loving wife Ruth and two children Todd (Gwen) and Penny (Nick-deceased) (Ozzie). His five grandchildren Katelyn (Jordan), Hillary (Tyler), Jonathon (Stephanie), Sierra and Serenity (George) and great-grandchildren Hudson and Benson.
James was a man who loved staying busy, traveling the world with his wife, skiing, fishing, boating, building and overall cottage life. He had a passion for creating fires and fireworks which brought joy or fear to many, always living life on the edge. His love for dogs was another special part of who he was. James will always be remembered for the home he built in St. Thomas and the two beautiful cottages on Lake Eugenia. He also worked at Ford Talbotville for many years, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. His legacy of love, craftsmanship, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Family would like to thank everyone who was involved in his health care. To fulfil Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral services. There will be a private celebration of life on a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.funeraloptions.ca
