Obituary of Gwen Patricia Curtis

Gwen Patricia Curtis (Mollard) passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025 in London at the age of 95.  Dearly loved mother of Patti (Doug), Georgia (Lori), Christy (Brad) and predeceased by her cherished daughter Sandy Curtis Arnot and Infant Granddaughter, Erica.  Predeceased by her parents George and Pat (Hagerman)Mollard and her sister Georgia Watson. Loving Nana to Gordon (Madeline), Beverley, Joanne (Michael), Alison (Mackenzie), Gavin (Janie), Audrey (Matt), Molly (Jonathan), Isabel (Adam) and Nick (Ally), and “Grana” to her seven great-grandchildren. 

Born on October 7, 1929 in Windsor, ON, Gwen lived in Toronto, Ottawa and London. In her teenage years, she helped her father establish the first commercial cranberry farm in Ontario, a fact she proudly shared with others throughout her life. She attended the MacDonald Institute (now Guelph University), earning a degree in Home Economics in 1950. In 1952, she travelled by ship to Europe and continued to travel and go on many adventures over the years. 

Gwen was a proud Bell Canada employee for over twenty years. She also taught knitting and sewing, and volunteered sewing clothing for historic Gibson House. After retiring, she was a long time dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Gwen loved to laugh and have fun, and enjoyed many wonderful friendships throughout her life. Special thanks to Arbor Trace Memory Care Centre and the many wonderful PSWs and nurses who cared for Gwen. 

Please join Gwen’s family in celebrating her life on Saturday, May 3 from 2-4pm at Bernie’s in Byron. Internment at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto at a later date.
