Obituary of Thomas James Watkin
"My only saving grace is that I actually collect things that nobody else is interested in."
Phil Collins
That’s what Jim would say!
Thomas James Watkin
March 21, 1950 - May 5, 2025
Jim was born the second of five children to Ernest and Marjorie Watkin. Survived by his three sisters, Dona, Brenda and Janice and many nieces and nephews. He had recently shared his 75th birthday with his family in March. He was a happy man eating, laughing and playing cards.
Jim loved to drive and after retiring from enterprise car rental (where he transferred vehicles around southwest Ontario) , he made many more road trips before he took to the paths and sidewalks of London, Ontario. Of late Jim was known by many as the Mayor of Springbank Park as he drove his scooter along the path sharing his SMILE with everyone. Jim made many friends along the way with his gift for gab and he will be missed.
Please join us as we will celebrate his lust for life with a last picnic on Friday, May 30 from 1pm -3pm in Springbank Park at site F under one of his favourite gazebos. Take the entrance to storybook Gardens off of commissioners Road at North Street and turn left at the stop sign on to Flint Ln.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society.
