It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joyce Marie Shepherd, who departed this life peacefully on June 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 14, 1947, in Blenheim, Ontario, Joyce lived a life defined by grace, quiet strength, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Joyce was a gifted baker who turned her passion into a successful small business, delighting many with her homemade treats—especially around the holidays. She also had a creative soul and a gentle hand, lovingly crafting beautiful handmade dolls that brought joy to many. Her home was always a place of comfort, full of warmth, laughter, and the delicious smells of something fresh from the oven. A woman of deep and steady faith, Joyce was a lifelong and active member of the Anglican Church. Her strong spiritual foundation guided her every step, and she lived her faith through kindness, humility, generosity, and love. Joyce was predeceased by the love of her life, Seranus “Snoop” Shepherd, and her beloved stepdaughter, Jen Marie Currie. She is survived by her stepsons: Mark (Colleen) Shepherd, Kevin Shepherd, and Darren (Shelley) Shepherd; her dear brother Jim (Martha) Thorndycraft and sister June (Gerard) Heider. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Joshua Shepherd, Caitlin Shepherd, Katryna Shepherd, Dominique Currie, Kirk Currie, Matthew Shepherd, Emily Shepherd, and Thomas Shepherd. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. A private memorial will be held to honour Joyce’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. Though she is no longer with us, the beauty of Joyce’s spirit lives on in every act of kindness, every shared story, and every cherished moment. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
