Those of us who grew up in the Ealing neighbourhood in the sixties and seventies will remember how Pete's dad would create an outdoor skating rink on the Shorts' property on Giles St. All the neighbourhood kids would come by and either play or watch hockey on Saturday nights. Also, Peter was in several of my classes at Ealing PS. I have many more fond memories of those years which can never come back: Eager Beaver baseball, skating at Silverwoods Park, school dances, sleep-outs, etc. My condolences to Peter's family. He was a really fine person to have known.

Our Deepest sympathy and condolences to Louise and the Short family for the passing of Pete . Pete has been a lifelong friend of mine since at least the 3rd grade. One standout memory for me is when his mother took us both to see The Dave Clark Five concert at London Gardens in 1965 , and of course all the winters spent on the home ice rink his Dad made.
Pete always supported me in my rock bands and guitar playing even to the present. I am grateful to him as a friend and I am so happy we had the last few years reuniting as a group and enjoying our friendship as before . You will be missed my brother.

My name is Mike Sorel. But im known as Bubba. I grew up with Brandon, Pete's son. I spent many days after school and on weekends hanging out with Brandon and his annoying sister, Sarah. Lol. One memory i have of Pete is when he was bbqing dinner for a bunch of us. He lit the bbq, but there was a big bang and when we looked at him...his belly hair and a bit of his iconic mustache burned. He was so mad. But we laughed. He also took me to my first ever concert. Alice Cooper and Motor Head. He was a great man and will be missed greatly. Condolences to his Family.

I am so sorry to hear of Pete's Passing. I know this is a sad and difficult time for you and your family. You have my deepest sympathy. I'll always remember our days as G Men as we called ourselves. Pete was one of the hardest working guys I knew. Then there were the Thursday night ball games playing for the City Hogs. He played third base and I was on first, I would cringe every time someone hit the ball to him, the man had a cannon for an arm and I knew this might hurt. I have many fond memories of the years I worked with Pete. His love for his wife and kids and of course hotrods. He will be missed but never forgotten.
