Obituary of Brian McGachy
May 1, 1948 – November 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian McGachy, who passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on November 14, 2025, in London, Ontario. Brian is survived by his beloved wife Sandra, his children Kevin (Stephanie) and Colleen (Paul), and his grandchildren Sarah, Trevor, Kathryn, Julia (Kevin), and Seamus (Colleen).
Brian was predeceased by his brother Jerry (Janet) and is lovingly remembered by his brothers Hugh (Evelyn) and Frank (Joanne).
Brian was born in Greenock, Scotland, to the late Hugh and Margaret (née Mallon) McGachy. He emigrated to Deux Montagnes, Quebec, Canada, in 1954, where he met and married Sandra. The family moved to London, Ontario, in 1976 for employment opportunities.
Brian was a devoted husband, father, and friend, known for his quiet strength, steadfast commitment, and generous spirit. In his younger years, he enjoyed sports, coaching, camping, travel, and watching his children grow. He especially loved supporting his children and grandchildren in their musical pursuits.
Over the course of his life, Brian was an engaged participant in several churches, serving as a church steward, volunteering in men’s ministry, and helping wherever he was needed. His willingness to support and encourage others reflected the generosity and faith that shaped his life. Brian held close his favourite scripture, 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”, which gave him strength throughout his life.
Professionally, Brian was a hardworking and dedicated employee who achieved great success in his career, retiring as Senior Vice President, Marketing Manager of Aon Reed-Stenhouse, London, Ontario. He was respected for his integrity, loyalty, and commitment to investing in the success of others.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on December 9 at Open Door Christian Fellowship, 940 Dundas Street, London, Ontario (519-439-6005).
