Obituary of William Shwetz
It is with great sadness that the family of William “Bill” Shwetz announce his passing on December 20, 2025 at University Hospital, London, Ontario.
Beloved husband of 67 years of Maple, loving father of Paul and daughter-in-law Carole.
Bill was born in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, on January 28, 1930, and was the son of the late Walter and Malanka Shwetz. Bill is survived by sisters-in-law, Colleen Shwetz, Jean MacKenzie (Merle) and Velda Morrow, as well
as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his brother Ray and sisters, Helen Nolet (Joseph) and Olga Sauve (Larry Arrand), brothers-in-law James Morrow (Audry) and Hugh Morrow, sisters-in-law Mary Wilkins
(Murray Scott and Russel Wilkins), Kathleen Carson (Robert), Peggy Gamble (Arthur), Aileen DuPlessis (Charles), Edith Rankin (David Malcolm (Mac)), and Etta Sharpe (John).
Bill worked at the London Board of Education in the finance department. Bill retired in 1989 and he and Maple continued to live in London and were happiest surrounded by family and friends, visiting their summer home in St. Martins, New Brunswick, spending time at their cottage in Grand Bend, Ontario, and travelling to Florida for the winter.
A celebration of Bill’s life for all family and friends will be held in the future. Memorial donations can be made to the Sunset Community Foundation (Grand Bend) or the charity of donor's choice.
