Obituary of Ronald Brent Tanner

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On December 25th 2025 with profound sadness yet surrounded by love, we share the passing of Ronald Brent Tanner in London, Ontario, with his cherished family by his side, celebrating a life of 68 years.

Devoted and loving best friend and husband to Debbie Tanner for 47 incredible years, Ronald embodied the essence of true partnership.

As a father, Ronald leaves behind three loving children who adore him: Jason Tanner (Mike), Melissa Luscombe (Chris), and Shonna StCroix (Randall), each inspired by his guidance.

Ronald delighted in his role as a grandfather, showering love and wisdom upon Dakota Tanner (Alex), Christian Luscombe, Rylee StCroix (Alexis), Carson Luscombe, Calix Luscombe, and sweet Jasper Tanner, his cherished great-grandson, who brought immense joy and happiness to his life. Ronald learned about his new great-granddaughter expected arrival in May mere days before his passing, filling his face with a radiant smile. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, to the late Shirley Alice Morris and Robert Allan Tanner, Ronald's journey was a testament to love, family, and legacy. Ronald later moved to London, Ontario where he found the love of his life Debbie Scanlon and married in 1978.

Ronald was taken in under the wings of in-laws the late Dorothy Elizabeth Baker and Gordon Victor Scanlon as they had taken him in as one own.  He leaves behind siblings Cheryl Pollington, Stewart Tanner (Robin), Lori Toljan (John), Teresa Tanner, and John Tanner, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ronald is remembered fondly for summers spent at Fanshawe Conservation Area, where he enjoyed trailer time with family and friends, creating unforgettable memories around campfires and on the deck, a tribute to the enduring bonds he fostered. Ronald was predeceased by his brothers Robert Tanner and Richard Tanner, and friend/babysitter Mary Charron.
