Obituary of Cynthia Elizabeth Scanlon

With profound love and deep sadness, we share the passing of Cynthia Elizabeth Scanlon (Cindy) at the age of 76 on December 30th, 2025.

Born in Strathroy, Ontario, to the late Dorothy Elizabeth Scanlon (Baker) and Gordon Victor Scanlon, Cynthia embodied the essence of love, care, and devotion from a young, tender age, nurturing her 7 siblings with maternal instinct.

Leaving behind 3 cherished sisters: Judy Scanlon, Dale Scanlon, and Debbie Tanner, Cynthia's legacy of love continues. Preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Elizabeth Scanlon (Baker) and Gordon Victor Scanlon, and her brothers Percy Scanlon, John Scanlon, Gordie Scanlon, and nephew Richard Boarer, Cynthia's memory shines brighter.

Beloved aunt to Christie Boarer, Jason Tanner (Mike), Melissa Luscombe (Chris), and Shonna St Croix (Randall), great-aunt to 5 nephews and 2 nieces, and great-great-aunt to 2 nephews and 1 niece, Cynthia's life was a symphony of love. Spending her last 11 years surrounded by love and care, particularly with her nephew Jason Tanner (Mike), even in long-term care, her spirit remained unbroken.

To Jason Tanner (Mike), the Saturdays spent visiting Aunt Cindy, watching 'Little House on the Prairie,' and the conversations that followed, the trips down to bingo, and the meticulous care provided – from laundry to personal hygiene – will forever be treasured memories. Like a second mother to Jason, Cynthia's guidance and love will be deeply missed. Their bond was truly like that of two peas in a pod.
