Obituary of Debbie Marie Tanner

Please share a memory of Debbie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With profound gratitude and love, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Debbie Marie Tanner, on January 8th, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in London to the late Dorothy Elizabeth Scanlon (Baker) and Gordon Victoria Scanlon, Debbie's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and devotion. Reunited with her Best friend/Husband, Ronald Brent Tanner.

Debbie leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and a family forever grateful for her guidance and love. Debbie's greatest treasures were her 3 children, Jason Tanner (Mike), Melissa Luscombe (Chris), and Shonna StCroix (Randall), whom she supported and nurtured through life's joys and challenges. Her 5 Grandchildren, Dakota Tanner (Alex), Christian Luscombe, Rylee StCroix (Alexis), Carson Luscombe, and Calix Luscombe, were the pride and joy of her heart. And her great grandson, Jasper Tanner, was the epitome of love and joy, spoiled by her affection. Just before her passing, Debbie learned of the upcoming arrival of a great granddaughter, expected in late May to Rylee St Croix (Alexis) a precious gift that filled her heart with anticipation and love. Debbie is survived by her sisters, Judy Scanlon and Dale Scanlon, and was predeceased by her sister Cynthia (Cindy) Scanlon and 3 brothers, Percy Scanlon, John Scanlon, and Gordie Scanlon.

Family was the cornerstone of Debbie's life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, whether camping at Fanshawe Conservation Area, sharing laughter around the campfire, or playing bingo on Saturdays. Her love for bingo was a constant source of joy, and even when the trailer closed for the season her enthusiasm for the game remained unwavering. Debbie will be deeply missed by her family, who were always inspired by her selflessness and unconditional love.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Hamilton, Dr. Stack, and the palliative care team for their compassionate care.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Jeff Mahoney, Kris Matheson and team at Tim Horton's #268, whose kindness and dedication made Mom's work experience truly special; every team member's compassion and support left an indelible mark.

If wishing to make donations please consider the Canadian Cancer Society or Breast Cancer Society would be a meaningful tribute to Debbie's memory.
