Obituary of Robert Richard Allain

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With great sadness we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Allain in his 81st year on February 17, 2026.  Surrounded with the love of his family, Bob passed peacefully at home following a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Bob loved his family unconditionally, his children Carolyn and Craig, daughter in law Giulia, granddaughters Bianca and Nicola, his nieces and nephews, sister-in-law  Jo-Anne, his life partner  Joan and stepson Mark.

Born in Montreal, raised in Greenfield Park, Bob worked as an insurance adjuster in Montreal,  Toronto and Moncton and on retirement moved to London, Ontario to be closer to family and in London he reconnected with many friends from his school days in Greenfield Park which gave him much joy.

Bob loved music of all genres and enjoyed singing in a number of choirs.  He learned to play the piano and took up the ukulele, spending many enjoyable nights strumming away with SOUP.  He was an avid and talented woodworker devoting many happy hours creating furniture for the home.

Bob's family want to extend their deepest appreciation for the wonderful care he received at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre, in particular the Oncology Day Unit, and hematologist Dr. Y. Eissa and also to the Palliative Care nurses and Dr. Hamilton and Dr. Stack.

Bob will be missed so very much by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.

Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre or to a charity of your choice.
