Rob and I (Ruth) will miss Roger tremendously. He was a wonderful man and very pleasant to spend time with. I only wish we'd had more time with him. This past few months since we moved to Bracebridge, we would have liked to have visited him during the time he spent in various hospitals in Grey/Bruce. He has enjoyed these long years doing what he wanted to do and who could wish for anything more. Our family will all miss him.

Dear Ron and Jay and Roger’s entire extended family;
So very sorry for your loss of your dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and brother-in-law and uncle.
Roger’s deep involvement and love of his community of Arran-Tara speaks volumes to his commitment to making his sons’ world a better place to live and grow up in.
He and his wife Bonnie were both very proud of their sons and their families.
The organizations Roger volunteered his time to accomplished great work for our hometown and largely due to the drive of good people like Roger. Roger was a driving force in getting many projects off the ground, but also a “behind the scene” physical tireless worker too!
Always friendly, and cordial to everyone,
Rest easy Mr Thorne, your work on earth is done.
