Obituary of Joseph Raymond Mallais
MALLAIS, Joseph Raymond “Ray” Passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 80. Born in Toronto on February 6, 1946.
Predeceased by his parents Edmond and Cecile, his brothers Ernie, Paul, and Daniel, his son-in-law Dan Ritchie, daughter in law Jillian Mallais and sister-in-law Marlene Heath.
Beloved husband and best friend of Mary for 62 years. Devoted father of Elizabeth (Dan), Jeff (Lizette), and Jason (Annette). Cherished grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of two.
Dear brother of Michael (Sandy), Pauline (Brad), and Doreen (Ken), and fondly remembered by Gigi (Jim), Alex (Valerie), and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was a dedicated millwright for over 30 years and could fix just about anything. He found joy in working on old cars, time on his boat “It’ll Do,” and making memories with family on Lake Couchiching. He will be remembered for his warmth, humour, and love of family gatherings filled with laughter and music.
A celebration of life will be held on April 25, 2026.
Short Mass service: 1:30-2:00pm
Celebration reception following: 2:00-4:00pm
Location: St. Joseph’s Parish, 162 Leslie St., Toronto.
