Obituary of Marilyn Jean Cassidy

CASSIDY, MARILYN JEAN (nee Wallace)

APRIL 26, 1934 – June 13, 2026

In London, Ontario at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Paul Robert Cassidy (2007). Survived by children Leigh (late Linda) of Calgary and Christine Gray (lan) of London.

Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive her. Loved sister of Deanne Cressman (late Robert) of Listowel and Jean Miller (late Don) of Vineland. Predeceased by her brother David Wallace. Survived also by her cousin Nancy (John Cushing).

Born at the Corliss Nursing Home on Berryman Avenue, St. Catharines, Marilyn was raised in Thorold and resided there until 2012 at which time she moved to London to be closer to family.

Until her move she was active in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder for 27 years. She was a fifty-year choir member and long-time member of the board of management as well as Presbyterian Women, Stitch and Chat, and the Thursday morning group. She was an adherent of Elmwood Ave. Presbyterian Church, London.

A graduate of Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (Toronto Metropolitan University), she cherished the friendships of the close-knit class of Home Economics '54. She was privileged to attend all but two of the reunions held every October for 60 years and most of her classmates' weddings.

Marilyn had a fondness for all things old, and she and Robert spent many hours on the restoration of the Keefer Mansion in Thorold. She was fortunate to be able to indulge in travel and she did so widely.

Marilyn lived a rich and full life and for that we are grateful.
