Meeting George left a lasting impression on me. He was incredibly witty, funny, and a true pleasure to chat with. He was a phenomenal ambassador for Home Children Canada's cause, and his legacy of resilience will continue to inspire this work.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family. May your wonderful memories of him bring you comfort during this time.

George made a lasting impact on my life. We met on a Rhine Cruise back in the nineties. He was a treasure box of history from a soldier that actually experienced the battles for my home town in Holland.
His traumatic experiences and my passion for his stories forged a very close bond. I dedicated my book Polder Fighting to him.
Besides that he was a enjoyable company and we had hilarious experiences in the worst bars in London. Also held parties at the Army Club which I will never forget. He and Emma visited me and my family few times.
Lost my last veteran friend. It marks the end of an era and a call to carry the torch and keep on telling the story.
