Obituary of Nicole Margaret Hadley

With our hearts broken we are sad to say Nickie passed away on Sunday July 26th...She is now with her beloved husband Jim(2015). Survived by her kids Kim(Dan) Smithers, Brenda Hadley, Jim Hadley Jr, and daughter-in-law Ashley Onderwater (Matt)  and grandkids Ryder, Kayden, Wyllow, Bryar and Kayce.

Mom spend some time in Ingersoll, Stratford and Parkwood hospitals in the last 2 weeks. We just want to thank all doctors and all the wonderful nurses she had in all the hospitals.  

She is predeceased by her parents Emile(1991) and Cecile(1986) Rathier and her brothers Gerard(2012) and wife Sharon(2019) Rathier, Joe(2021) and wife Sharron Rathier, Michael(2023) and wife Vivian Rathier and sister-in-law from England Ruth(2011) and husband John(2018) Perkins and survived by brother John Rathier and sister Huguette and JC Leroux, sister in laws Iris and Bill Richardson and Dani Rathier and many nieces and nephews.

We want thank all the people who sent prayers, positive vibes and thoughts and the wonderful hugs, we felt them all....and all the prayers groups thank you♥️

Mom we were proud and it was an honor to  assist you.  Like aunt Iris said mom lead a simple life.  Never knew so much about moms life until Mr. Dementia came into all our lives.  We found out that she went fishing, curling, golfing with her father.  Spending time with her dad is what she enjoyed.   Now skipping to moms married life which was on 9 high street.  That house was a sloped house.  Down towards the the river.  LOL Rocks held the doors opened.  A story in this house was moms first time baking a pie crust.  It was so thick that she could not break it when she threw it on the floor. Dad stated  do not worry  i will hit it with the hammer and use it for soda bisquits.  Another story comes to mind, about two little girls.  Now 9 high street was a fenced in back yard.  One afternoon there was a knock at the front door.  Hello my name is Jack Warden and i want to ask you are those your girls out on the curb.  No she said my girls are in the back yard.  Wait a minute those are my girls.  She ran to the curb and said what are you doing here.  We told her that we are waiting for Dad to come home.  To this day she does not know how we got out.  Thats how we were introduced to Uncle Jack and he married my moms best friend Aunt Liz.   Now moving to Ilderton.  Lived in an old farm house for 45 years.  There are many stories here.  Many parties, and many friendships were formed.  The lists goes on but here are just a few.  Judy and Bill, Marsha and Llyod, Larry and Judy, Dave and Darlene,  Art and Frieda, the Jones, the two Gregory families.  Mr. And Mrs Tony, Wayne and Alma and Mrs B.J. Taylor.  Now these are just a few of the Ilderton area  friendships that were made.  Alot of memories with all these famillies.  To many to mention here.  But a favorite story is mom always made us go to the store which was a mile away.  Now Mrs. T would drive by us and stop and ask if we want a ride.  we always told her sorry we can't get into the car because she was a stranger.  She had enough of that,  she put us into the car and brought us home.  She went into the house and introduced herself.  That was the last time walked to get groceries.  Mom and dad did get  compliments  on how we behaved on the road.  This is where their love was. Ilderton a great place, quiet place,  a place they enjoy life and mom was quite content.  Mom was a proud of her grandchildren of Jimmy and Ashley, Ryder, Kayden, Wyllow, and Ashley and Matt Bryar and Kayce. Im happy she got to know them a little bit. Move back to London she was 63.  She got her license at this age.  She drove until the age of 72.  She gave up her license.  Moved in with the girls and Danny.  This is the beginning of that awful disease MR. DEMENTIA.  We were the lucky ones  to  assist  mom with the disese.  Even though i work in it everyday.  It was my surprise how diffcult it was  to be in the same situation as work but home hits home. I found it hard.  Thankful for Danny's and Brenda's support it really helped me.  It is not fun.  Feelings get hurt by this disease.  Any advice just go with the flow,   but it hurts.  This only  makes  us stronger.     Memories of what mom did. Ceramics at the Stewart's Cards games loved games with anyone and family. Handmade Christmas decorations out Styrofoam and yarn dolls.  Those were cool. We made birds and bells and boxes  out of kleenex boxes.  Decorated them.  Made alot of good food and desserts over the years. Then what ever Brenda did for art and crafts mom also did. Diamond art, puzzles and the puzzle books she loved.    She also love going places travelling with dad. Car rides was her time away.  Family Cottage, trailer, and Ottawa. As the dementia got worse she enjoyed watching  tv. VON Program three times a week down in Dorchester. At home she did enjoy the sweeping ,laundry,and doing the dishes. The last years she also  gave up doing the laundry and we did the dishes.  She did do a little sweeping.  Mom thank you for giving us, you.  Once again it was an honor assisting you with your last stage of life.  I'm  so happy you gave us  that chance and i can only hope that you are proud of the decisions that were made for you.  They were very hard.  Be happy start your next stage of life with dad.  Love you so much.
