Obituary of Thomas Anthony Konopka

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tom Konopka, on Aug 10th, 2026 at the age of 86 .
Tom was predeceased by his beloved spouse, Dianne Konopka in 2002. The two shared a wonderful 38 years together and built a beautiful life raising their family in Toronto and London.  He leaves behind his long-time partner Sandra France, who brought love and companionship to his later years.

Devoted father of Susan (Shaun Arnold), Scott (Andrea), and Michael (Kate).  Proud Gran to Aaron, Lindsay, Ryan, Abbey, Alicia and Adam.   He was deeply loved by his family and cherished the special bond he shared with each of them. He is also survived by his brothers Ronnie (Lesley) and Ric (Shelagh).

Born in St. Catharines, Tom lived a life centred on family, love, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made life meaningful.  Known for his easy going nature and sense of humour, he created lasting memories and shared many laughs amongst friends and family.  His kindness, generosity and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Tom found great joy in the outdoors and embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved the theatre, swimming, skiing, travelling and spending cherished time at the cottage at Farquhar Lake.  These moments brought him happiness and created wonderful experiences with family and friends.

In retirement, Tom enjoyed giving back to his community, volunteering his time with Mission Services and St. Anne’s Anglican Church.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Amica Royalcliffe Retirement Home for their care and compassion.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. Anne’s Anglican Church in London on October 17 at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow immediately in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or Mission Services - Men’s Mission.
