May 11, 1958 - November 26, 2023

Ursula Hummel passed suddenly and unexpectedly at the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Sunday November 26, 2023, surrounded by a few close loved ones.

Married for over 25 years to Larry Hummel, they shared a unique bond on many levels; love of people, dogs, gardening, good food and shared businesses. Both Ursula and Larry were fortunate to travel the world together for work and pleasure, which brought them both great happiness.

Predeceased by her parents Christel (2022) and Charles O’Byrne (1983) is survived by her siblings Brigitta, Christel (Claude), Edward, Beatrice (Thomas), Michelle (Daniel) and aunt to Cristina, Eva, Steve, Terri, Kieran, and Godmother to Sarah; Stepmom to Kathryn (Brandon) and Step Grandmother to Payton.

Ursula was born in Dublin, Ireland and emigrated to Toronto in 1965. Ursula was an avid reader and scholar in the pursuit of knowledge throughout her life. She had a varied and rewarding career.  However, after many years of study and practice, she was able to be certified as a dog trainer, specializing in behavioural therapy enabling her to assist families and dogs become true companions. Being surrounded by animals was truly one of her greatest passions.

Ursula was a very special person, whose kind and bright smile could welcome anyone, and her warmth made it easy for her to make friends wherever she went. Whether it was in far off places or in Delaware (just outside of London, Ontario) where she and Larry resided these last 6 years. Ursula made a great impact on so many people and will be missed dearly by all.

In honour of Ursula a celebration of life will be held in the new year. Details will be shared with close friends & relatives in the near future.

Please consider a donation to a canine charity focusing on shelter and rescue of your choice in honour of Ursula.
