Alexander Edgar “Ed” Carrier

It is with tremendous grief that we announce the sudden death of Alexander Edgar “Ed” Carrier of London, Ontario at the age of 89 on December 23, 2023 with his family by his side at Earl’s Court Village, London, Ontario. Ed was born on November 27, 1934 in Brantford, Ontario to Catherine and Honoré (Henry) Carrier. He had a long career beginning at age 9 delivering the Brantford Expositor. Ed then worked in metallurgy and was proud to have been part of the Avro Arrow project. He had a rewarding career in sales and management and was a great mentor to his colleagues.

Ed met the love of his life, Janice Christabel Helen Diver, when he was 3 years old. They were married in 1957 and shared a wonderful marriage full of unwavering love, laughter, friendship and travel for more than 66 years. Janice predeceased Ed by just 5 days. Neither could bear to be apart even in death. Ed was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend to anyone who crossed his path. Ed loved his family more than anything and was a hands-on Dad, always involved with his children’s activities. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends especially at Bow Valley Provincial Park. Ed loved visiting with friends and had a passion for travel - road trips, cruises, anywhere, anytime!

Ed will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Memories of Ed will be cherished by his three children, Michelle, David (Dianne), Noelle (Trevor) and his many precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A joint celebration of Janice and Ed’s lives will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Renal Patient Assistance Fund (via the LHSC Foundation), the Humane Society of London and Middlesex or the Care & Share Food Assistance Program at Chalmers Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be left at www.funeraloptions.ca
