Obituary of Lynda Marlene Stevens

Please share a memory of Lynda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Lynda Stevens was born in London, Ontario on September 4, 1947, to parents Don and Olga.  She attended Beck Secondary High School, and in her younger years she enjoyed her grandparent’s cottage in Long Point, riding her motorcycle, and driving her green gremlin.  From here she went on to attend the University of Western Ontario to obtain her teaching degree.  After a short teaching career, life led her to be a full-time mom to her three daughters and eventually she returned to school to become a child therapist.  A significant contribution she made was her work to launch the victim witness protection project, to support victims to have options in giving their testimony in court.

Over the years, one of Lynda’s greatest joys was welcoming many grandchildren, and sharing in each of their unique personalities and interests.  One of her favorite spots was the view of Whitestone Lake from the cottage dock.  She enjoyed watching the grandkids swim, waterski and dive.   Pontoon boat rides for ice cream, floating on her noodle, reading in the sunshine, and watching the loons and hummingbirds.  At home, Lynda/Nanny tended to her flower garden and could often be found trying out a new recipe in the kitchen to spoil guests.

Lynda travelled throughout her retirement and especially enjoyed the European River cruises and Paris.  She also appreciated travelling in Canada and visiting the East Coast.

Lynda loved her furry friend Bailey and spoiled many grand dogs along the way.

She will be so very deeply missed by all who got to be encircled in her love.

Visitation is welcome between 2 and 4 pm on Saturday June 10th, at Alliance Church, 750 Wonderland Rd. N. London in the fire side room.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to a charity of choice in memory of Lynda.
