Obituary of Alan Herman Munday

Please share a memory of Alan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MUNDAY, Alan – It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of a husband, father and grandfather.  Alan Herman Munday was born on February 28th in Avington, England.  He married the love of his life, Kaye, on June 8th, 1963 and they moved to London, Ontario in July of 1965 to build a family.  He is survived and dearly loved by his wife, Kaye Munday for 54 years.  Sadly missed by daughter Paula (Tim Greenfield) Munday, son Sean Munday and grandchildren, Justin Van Boxtel (Jenna), Brandon Van Boxtel, Kristin Munday and Matthew, Zoe and Joshua Greenfield. Fondly remembered by his siblings Douglas and Christopher Munday and Janita Healey and their families and by sisters-in-law Lorna and the late Jill and their families.

He started his career at Saunders-Roe and worked on the first jet helicopter and first hovercraft. He was a certified tool and die maker and construction millwright.  Upon immigrating to Canada, he worked at Excelo Corporation, Bell Telephone, Ford Motor Company and Labatt’s before spending his final working years at Accutech Design.  He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and playing darts was one of his passions.

As per Alan’s wishes, a private cremation will be held.  Please join us for a Celebration of Life at Komo Hall, Oriole Park Resort, 22790 Amiens Rd., Komoka, ON, on Dec. 30, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SMGH Foundation, www.smghfoundation.com.

Alan would help anyone and could fix or build anything; we look forward to seeing what he has created when we see him again – love, your family.
