My deepest sympathy to all of Dick’s family. I too worked with Dick at the ORC. He often spoke fondly of his family and was a great guy to work with. Had an awesome sense of humour & seemed laid-back and relaxed. He always had interesting stories.
It was so many years ago but I’m pretty sure it was Dick that used to sing that song Wimoweh- in the jungle the mighty jungle ....
I also remember him wearing his slippers to walk from his house to store to buy a newspaper.
RIP Dick

Dear Teresa and family. We were so sorry to hear of Dick's passing and were unaware that he had been battling cancer. We always enjoyed our visits with Dick when he was out for his many walks and he would stop at our house to have a chat and get caught up on our families and all our friends who work at the ORC with us. I (Linda) worked with Dick on Ward 12 and he helped me get through many shifts at work after partying all night. We had some great laughs and he was always so gentle with the clients. Kevin remembers Dick as a person who was always easy to talk to, a straight shooter and a wealth of information. We know you and the family have some wonderful memories to cherish of Dick and hope they can get you through some of your darkest moments. We are looking forward to the celebration of life for Dick in April. Love to you all----Kevin and Linda Smith.

Dick, my friend I will always remember you. I first meet you in 1984 at the ORC when you thought I was some fancy social worker but when you got to know me you quickly changed your mind and realize I was just as crazy as the rest of the folks that worked at the ORC. I remember when I got myself into some hot water you were there with your kind words and encouragement.I am not a hockey fan but each morning after the game, the night before I got a detail description of each goal scored and because of that i am a semi hockey fan.
I admire your dry sense of humor and would not hesitate to share one of your jokes.
You made working the night shift fun and I vividly remember discussing politics and travelling to different countries.
My friend, you made a lasting impression on me and one day I am going to join you to continue our crazy talk and laugh non stop.
