Obituary of James Wallace Young McMurray

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James Wallace Young McMurray, in his 68th year, suddenly left us on April 11 in his home at 580 Dundas St. A loved brother to Diana, Paul, Peter (Debbie) and Christina (James), and predeceased by his brother Shawn, his sister Carolyn. Also predeceased by his parents Peter McMurray (1997) in Edinburgh and Lynn Blythe (2004) in London, Ontario. Dear uncle to  Lynn and Gord, Ryan, Shawna, Craig, Alana, Taylor and Matthew, Eryn, Alyson and Callum, and many great- nieces and nephews. James was well known and loved at his local London residence and had an open-door policy in his place that was reflective of his generous and accepting spirit. James was a long- time worker at Tecumseh Products, and also worked at Kelloggs and was a  former taxi driver in London. James was proud to be a born Scotsman who liked to place a bet or two, a sports lover, an avid stamp collector, cat lover, and proud member of his resident community who looked out for each other and gave whatever he had to those in need. James will be dearly missed by everyone of us who knew of his humanity and his compassion, his wit, articulate and unpretentious nature, and of his innate ability to make others feel at ease with him and themselves and to connect with others at the most fundamental human level. He was truly a unique person who will be sorrily missed, but his good-heartedness will continue on in those he has touched and loved. A cremation has taken place and a private celebration of James' life is planned by his family. Godspeed Jimmy, until we meet again!
