Obituary of Herbert Christian Peterson

Honouring the passing of “Coach” Herbert Christian Peterson, in his 83rd year.  Beloved husband of  Rosslyn (Roz) Peterson.  Loving father of Kara Peterson and the late Kirsta Smith (2018).  Adored grandfather of the late Kieran Smith (2013).   Loved brother of Carol Moir (Terry), brother-in-law to Donna Peterson and dear friend of John Vouvalidis and Phil Harris.  Herb will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. 

Predecessors by his siblings Ellen Beitz (Herb), Dorothy Thompson (Manford), Fred Peterson (Joyce), Andy Peterson (Viola), Jim Peterson (Madelyn), Ruth Litzan, Anna Taylor (Paul) and Ken Peterson.

Herb, a talented fastball player, honoured with his team in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and high school basketball coach treasured his many deep and long relationships he had with students, his team mates and colleagues.  Herb inspired and impacted many through his teaching and coaching at both London Central and H.B. Beal Secondary schools.  His family shares a deep thank you for the outpouring of love and gratitude for him!  

Cremation has taken place. An open house Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Sunday October 6th at Royal Canadian Legion Byron-Springbank, 1270 Commissioners Rd W, London from 1 pm to 4 pm with words of remembrance at 3 pm.   Donations to the London Humane Society or St. Joseph’s Hospice would be appreciated.
