Obituary of Dr. Francis Vaughan Currie

Francis [Bob] Vaughan Currie D.D.S.

On December 18, 2024 -- We lost a great man in his 100th year of life. Bob was born on September 22, 1925. Son of Francis R Currie and Muriel (nee Brydone-Jack). Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Kiss (nee Rastow) and sons Mark Douglas (Nancy) and Robert Erik (Alessandra). Also survived by his sons Peter Charles (predeceased 2021), Richard Vaughan (Luella), David Reed (Queenie) and Robert Irwin (Trish).

Bob was born in Vancouver BC in 1925 and at a young age his family moved to Toronto in 1931. Bob graduated from Lawrence Park Collegiate in Toronto. Bob served in WW2 within the British Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm. In 1950 Bob graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Bob returned to Vancouver where he was employed as a dentist with the Vancouver Metropolitan Health Board from 1950 to 1951. From 1951 to 1958 Bob returned to Ontario where he set up his initial dental practice in the town of St. Mary's. Bob then relocated his practice to London Ontario where he continued his dentistry work from 1958 to 2014. He became certified in 1977 as a prosthodontics specialist.

Bob was a distinguished and charming man who was loved by everyone who had the good fortune to cross his path. Bob loved his garden, and lived an active lifestyle enjoying skiing, tennis, and travel. Bob is loved and will be missed by everyone.
