In Memory of John 'Al' Yeo
1928-2016
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Winston Churchill
Peacefully in his 88th year at University Hospital, London on Friday, May 20, 2016. Beloved husband and best friend of Noreen for 62 years. Loving father of David Yeo, Shelley Yeo (Jeremy), Deb (Rob) Parr-Nash and Diane Yeo. Adored gramps to Andrew, Lindsay(Dan), Bryan (Stephanie), Rebeca (Glenn), Tim (Candice), Toby (Rock), Christie (Mark). Cherished great-gramps to Ema, Lucas, Isaac, Thomas, Angela, Paxon and Evelyn. Loved by Ruthie (Ron) who was like a sister and the Gallant family and Kevin. Predeceased by son-in-law David Parr. Cheers to the Cherryhill coffee clutch and work-out buddies at Chelsey Park and to all the others who touched Al's life just as he touched theirs. Al was passionate about his relationships with people. He loved his family, friends and everyone he encountered in a big or small way. He had a strong faith and was a loved member of Byron Community Church. Al was a life member of Centennial Lodge No. 684 and Past President of London Mocha Shrine Centre. For most of his working career he was Operations Manager at Inter-City Truck Lines. Al and Noreen's door has always been open. There was always an extra place at the table. Friends were welcomed to share meals, love and laughter.
At Al's request cremation has taken place. The Masonic Service is being held on May 25th at London Shrine Club, 6:30pm, 468 Colborne Street. Please join us for the Celebration of Al's Life on May 28th at London Hunt Club, 10:00am, 1431 Oxford Street W. Online condolences may be made to dianeyeo1@gmail.com. A special thanks to all of the amazing staff at University Hospital 4th floor, Dr. Tu and Gayle and Cheryl for their care and compassion, and grateful for loving prayers and support for Al and his family. In lieu of flowers donations in memory may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children. www.shrinershosptialforchildren.org or Women's Community House www.shelterlondon.org.
