I am so sadened by this annoncement. I just learned today of Deanna's passing. My mother, Lise Labelle, that passed away in august 2012 on the 30th, was one of her best friend, If not her best friend, for almost 60 years. They met in their teens (They even partenered in & won an ice skating dance competition back then when they were around 17) and their friendship continued long after Deanna left Montréal after her marriage to Peter Chan. Even if the distance between them would make it difficult to see each other, they always kept in contact by phone,by letters ... And those moments of joyfullness each time they saw each other. The last time i had the privilege to talk to her was on August 30th when i called to annonce her the sad news of the death of her good friend Lise. I will never forget the sadness of that call ... Told her i would come down to London and see her. And then ... Life happened and i never did ... This morning was thinking of her , to find she already left. What a lot of memories those two women took with them. Women like they don't make anymore; God broke the matrix long time ago. I can't help but cry & smile when i think God reunited those two beautiful friends. My sincere condolences to Lori & her children and to all of those that knew her & loved her. Rest in Peace Deanna, i loved you very much.

It was with surprise that Dick and I learned of Deanna's death when dropping by to visit her at Glendale Crossing.
Dick, or Dicky Dean the magician, as you know him (George & Cathie Dean's son) has been a resident of Glendale for a year. He resides in the Byron neighbourhood suffering from frontal lobe dementia. A few months ago while we were strolling in Deanna's neighbourhhood, she noticed us and said "You are my cousins." From that time on we have visited Deanna and were saddened to hear of her passing.
We are glad that we made the contact with Deanna at Glendale. She and Dick enjoyed reminiscing about their family connections. Lori, we also appreciated you introducing yourself following our magic show for your company a number of years ago.
Your online photos of Deanna were a beautiful tribute to her.
With sympathy,
Marg and Dick Dean
