To the Mackey family; Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and condolences on the passing of Marilyn. Your love and respect for her are clearly evident in the wording if the obituary and show you enjoyed a happy life together. Cherish these memories and give thanks to God that He has called Marilyn to be with Him where there is no pain and suffering. I have many happy memories of our childhood years on Bain Ave in Toronto when the Deane/Ford/Smith families enjoyed many happy celebrations together. Unfortunately our adult lives took separate paths which never seemed to cross again so I didn't get to know and enjoy Marilyn as an adult, a parent and a Grandmother as well as a friend which I consider my loss. Dear Jill, Shaun, Janis and Chris Thank you for this touching obituary. Your Mother would be pleased with your tribute to her. Like you, we miss her greatly. She linked us to the distant past and kept us up-to-date about her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of all of you and loved you very much. In the past several months we have had a great many phone conversations and a few visits with Marilyn when we laughed and cried and laughed again. She maintained her sense of humour even to her last days. In memory of our beloved sister who had a huge soft spot for children, we have sent a donation to Sleeping Children Around the World. 'Auntie Marilyn' Always a smile, always a hug, always a laugh or a kind word (unless I was being an 'SD' which I could be at times). She generously shared her birthday with my wedding day, and the 4 years later shared her birthday again with the birth of our eldest daughter. Each of the Ford "boys" share fond family memories of gatherings at Sauble, Christmas in Toronto (how did 14 of us fit in Grandma's 2 bedroom apartment??). Later on it was family reunions, family weddings or anniversary parties. The smile, the laugh and kind words never diminished over the years, even if the reason for family gatherings became less frequent. As one of the Ford "boys" I remember her now and she will always remain, my Auntie Marilyn.
