I can almost hear the sound of that unique McKinnon laughter as Uncle John and cousin Kev reunited in their eternal home and caught up on their stories after many years apart. Just like his dad, it's hard to imagine anyone was more proud of or more dedicated to his family. Even as a "younger cousin", I always admired Kevin for his "joie de vivre", his family pride and his extreme intelligence. Rarely did I ever hear a topic raised in conversation that he didn't know something about ... but never in a vain way. I don't have any recollection of Kev ever bragging on himself though the same can't be said about his kids. He bragged about them constantly. I will always remember Kevin as one of the most stoic men I have ever known. An admirable trait in which very few of us his equal. God Speed cuz, thanks for the conversations, the lessons (both on what to do AND what NOT to do! LOL) and the memories. Until we meet again ...

So sad to read about Kevin this morning, met Kevin a long time ago at Hideaway restaurant, became great friends of the round table ( lol) he was always smiling and laughing and made alot of friends, during some of our conversations found out that i went to High School with his sister Janice... another good friend from School. As they say.. its a small world and you never know who is related to who... Deepest sympathy to family ... RIP. Cheers!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Kevin for many years. I will fondly remember him for his quiet kindness & profound knowledge on many subjects, especially history. He was very reserved but once you were able to break that 'shell', you met a highly intelligent, kind hearted, humorous man with endless stories & who loved his family dearly. I hope he has found peace. Thoughts & prayers to the family.
