To my Knight in Shining Armor, You have been in pain since I met you in 1962. That didn't scare me away because I had you through thick and thin since that day. Strength can be found in many forms. For some, it is in a strong presence, a mighty act, or great speed. Strength can also be found in silence, quiet space and a gentle touch. This quiet strength best describes my dad. My dad spoke very little, but when he did, it was to ask how I was doing, his comfort was found in knowing that I was ok. His first question always being, "how is work?" My dad had a very strong work ethic and believed in being dependable and putting in a honest day's work. He never complained, always enduring his physical pain in quiet grace. When others said he would not be able to do something, he gave them a lesson in endurance and determination. Dad, thank you for giving me lessons for growth, memories for comfort and love to hold until we see each other again. Rest in peace Dad. Love, Kathy

To my grandpa, Thank you for always being a great father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and a friend to everyone. You always taught me to stay strong and to never give up. You worked your entire life, even when you were in pain at such a young age. You always worked hard for your family no matter the struggles you faced. I will always remember you for your kind, loving and caring heart. Everyone you met loved you because you were such an amazing man, no matter who it was, you always got along with them, you always showed hospitality and respect to everyone. You were such an amazing human and I am so glad I am able to call you my grandpa, thank you for teaching me to stay strong and to be kind and respectful to all. And don't worry about Grandma, myself and many others will take great care of her for you. Have fun with Uncle Bob and Your mom! I will love and miss you forever. Love Kayla

My Uncle Jim. As a young child I was afraid of him. His tall stature & slicked back black hair intimidated me. Lol I grew up to admire this humble soul. He suffered daily with pain, but would never complain. He would wake up hours before his scheduled work shift, just to unstiffen enough to be able to comb his hair, get dressed, and leave the house. Always a generous host. Enjoying the company of people around him. My last fond memory would have to be talking on the phone with him for 1.5hrs last year. Also, I always enjoyed the smile & the joy it brought to his face whenever he held a new grand/greatgrand child in his arms. You will be missed Uncle Jim, to all that knew you. A quiet, selfless man who may now rest in peace without pain. God Bless. Sincerely, your niece Tena
