Obituary of Carol Ann Florence Davis-Balog

My mother, Carol Ann Davis Balog, daughter of Edna and Harold Davis of Port Aux Basques, passed away peacefully at home in London, ON on the evening of May 22, 2022.  She was surrounded by family and friends.  It was a peaceful transition for which we are most grateful.  My mother struggled for many years with cancer.  She fought long and hard to live but lost the final battle. 

She leaves behind her immediate family, her son Anthony, his sister Claudia and their father Eugen.  In addition, she also leaves behind her siblings Diane (Emile) DuHamel, Roy (Nina) Davis, Audrey Davis, Shirley (Jim) Ford, Debbie, (Brad) Sullivan, Joyce, (Glen) Skeard, Frank (Eileen) Davis, and many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded by her brother Joe, (Joanne) Davis, and her nephew’s, Danny Davis and Jonathan Sullivan. 

My mother was a nurse who spent her life caring for the health of others, a career she loved.  As her son, I am so very proud of how she lived and how she cared for me.  She left this world far too soon and long before I could ever repay her for all that she gave me.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 7th in the Chapel at Mount Pleasant Cemetery 303 Riverside Drive, London.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
