Helen and Jodi, I’m so sorry for your loss. Andrew always had a friendly smile for me at rehearsals or concerts. He was so kind to Graham and Ian, having them work with him. A wonderful human being taken too soon. ❤️

Q: What was Andrew's favorite recipe?
A: I remember as a kid mom (charlotte) and I visiting Helen’s and her and Andrew always had a tradition of making brownies. I remember running up between them asking to try one of the delicious looking brownies after coming from the park, and both of them saying absolutely not because they were going to eat every single crumb. And they did! They stood in the kitchen with forks just laughing and talking until those things were gone.
I still laugh about it today and think of those legendary brownies

At the 2004 Beck Reunion, the group known as the Towne Criers [all from Beck] were part of the entertainment at the Saturday evening dinner dance. Members of that group were Tim Rowat, Brad Myers, Larry Walsh, Ken Wilson and Ian Crichton. However, Larry had passed away and as a surprise Larry's son Andrew joined the group for that evening. Andrew also sang the solo that his father had sung with the group - "Five Hundred Miles". I knew about this arrangement as I was on the planning committee and I sat, eyes glued to the stage waiting for this to happen. Tears flowed as I thought of Larry and how proud he would have been to know his son honored him in this manner. I will never forget that moment while on this earth. I hope that others will remember it as well. BONNIE SPENCER-BEER

Helen and Jodi, we are shocked and saddened to learn of your sudden loss of Andrew. He was like and brother to our son Jon through high school. Both December babies and both finding ways to get into mischief together any chance they got! He was so much fun and always laughing. He will never be forgotten as there are so many memories to hold onto for everyone who knew him.

We're heartbroken at the loss of Andrew and mourn with you Helen, and with all of his family and friends. I remember first meeting and bonding with Andrew during our choir trip to Europe, and am thankful for the subsequent years of friendship throughout our time making music with Amabile. Andrew was an absolute gift of a man, with a fierce loyalty to his friends and a readiness to make new ones in any place and at any time. His kindness was only paralleled by his love for goodhearted mischief. His confidence, and his bold attitude towards every part of life, brought so much more out of those around him. It's been well over a decade since we moved away from Ontario, but I've continued to think of him from time-to-time, and was always delighted to see him at the few Amabile-attended functions that we've had the chance to attend. I will continue to miss him, but will never stop remembering him.
With our deepest condolences,
Robin and Donna Abel

Dearest Helen:
I was so sorry to read of the loss of your son, Andrew. He lived a life full of interest and with so many hobbies. Being an outdoor enthusiast has such a positive impact on oneself and his love of music was such a gift.
Helen….you were my favourite teacher and so enjoyed your loving and caring approach to your students. Your son would have been so fortunate to have been raised and loved by such a wonderful mom.
Thinking of you and Jodi during this time of sadness but take strength in all your beautiful memories.
Sincerely,
Sue Cason(Andrew)
