Obituary of Ryan Jason Nutbrown

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Ryan Jason Nutbrown on Monday 15 February 2016, at the age of 44. Ryan is the beloved son of Wayne (deceased) and Fern Nutbrown, brother to Robyn Elliott and Regan (Todd) White, uncle to Jordin and Nicholas Spiesz, Aydin and Ethan Elliott and loving nephew to Linda Rodgers, and Bob and Verna Nutbrown (Heide, Jodi, Lydia and Tristan). Ryan had a family of friends who will miss him dearly, including Brad, Kathleen, Evan and Sam Kobe, Jennifer, Iain, Kate and Kim Beaton, and Julia Marchesan, and many others who are too numerous to name here. Ryan lived a rich life, full of laughter, hard work and adventure. His dedication to his friends, and his quiet, loving presence will be sorely missed. In his last months, he was challenged with a difficult cancer treatment, which he overcame with grace and dignity. All along, he struggled with depression and could not overcome that battle, and he ultimately succumbed to that disease. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life, with details to be announced in the next few weeks. Donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Canadian Cancer Society in his honour. May the wind be always at his back.
