Please share a memory of Bill to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
HORLEY: Bill Donald The Toronto Blue Jays have lost a devoted fan, Tim Horton’s will notice a decrease in Ice Cap sales, and a last bounce will be heard on a basketball court…somewhere…as we sadly say goodbye to Bill Horley. In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 31st, Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep. The youngest of nine children, Bill is survived by his wife Vicki, his son Steve, his daughter Lori Ann, and his son Garth. Bill will be particularly missed by his brother Joe Horley and his sister-in-law Carol Cavanagh. Bill enjoyed many friendships and held a special place in his heart for Anne Fong, Pat McPhee, and Ralph Field. A philosopher, athlete, teacher, coach and all round good guy, Bill will also be remembered by his colleagues at the Thames Valley District School Board, his students, and those team members he coached. Bill loved sports. He loved coaching. His many achievements included being inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall of Fame (1990), and being named Coach of the Year for the UWO Men’s Varsity Basketball team (1984-1985). A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Sunday, April 10th from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Michaels on the Thames Restaurant, 1 York Street, London. Tributes to Bill will commence at 2 pm. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow Park Long Term Care for their compassionate care of Bill, and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society be made in Bill’s memory.
