Obituary of Shawn Dale Delorme

It is with the deepest sadness and heavy hearts that we announce that after a long, courageous battle with cancer, Shawn Dale Delorme, with his parents by his side, peacefully passed away in LHSC hospital in London, Ontario on October 28, 2024, in his 51st year. He will be forever missed by his mother (Roberta), father (Greg), his brother Ryan (Sarah) and sister Neisha Caitlin (Kory). He will be deeply missed by his children, Jesse (mom-Amy) & Dayla (mom-Sandi). He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends far and wide.   

Shawn was a gifted artist from a young age and his passion for art enhanced over the years and he continued with that passion right up to his final days. He lived his life to the fullest, with no bars held and with a reckless abandon that was infectious to anyone who was lucky enough to know him.  He lived life on his own terms and never backed down from a challenge. When he started his long journey with cancer, he fought back every step of the way and became known as a "warrior" to so many that travelled that journey with him. His kids meant everything to him and was so very proud of them and their accomplishments.  

Thank you sincerely from the family for the many calls, messages, and condolences we have received from far and wide.  

 A special thank you to his hero, Dr. Deotare and all the nurses and staff at LHSC.  A special thank you also to his homecare nurses, Denise and Terry, who always managed to put a smile on his face with their visits.  

Words cannot express how much he will be missed and he has left a void in many hearts. 

Cremation has taken place and a family celebration of life will be held in late spring. We will be honoring his wishes and spread his ashes in the 1000 islands.  A place that was very dear to his heart. A very good friend of Shawn’s has come forward and planned a Celebration of Life to honour him. It will take place. November 23, 2024 from 12:00-3:00p.m. at the Paradigm (100 Kellogg Lane, London Ontario).
