It is with much sadness I tell you that my Mum, Marg, Auntie Marg, Mrs. Shewan to many of you, has finally lost her battle with Lung Cancer. She fought long and quietly, I was amazed by her ceaseless resilience and defiant courage over the last three and a half years. She endured pain, surgeries, treatments, countless appointments and scan results without complaint. Never remorseful, always adapting and finding a way to go on. Even when her body failed her, her spirit kept her going. But even her amazing strength could not endure forever and last Wed June 14th at 3:35 am, she finally lost the battle.
Thank-you to my lifelong friend Missy Butler, and my amazing cousins Lynda Lister Brackin and Tammy Lister for sitting up with me all night to see her out of this world, I will be forever grateful. I am sad to have lost her but thankful for all the years we had her. She was my mum, my supporter and my most loyal friend. She was my best girl. I am glad she is at peace, and will carry her always with me, in spirit.
For those of you that knew Mum and wish to pay your Last Respects, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Victory Branch Legion at 311 Oakland Ave in London on Saturday June 24 from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the London Humane Society.
