Obituary of Shirley May Donna Burleigh

Burleigh, Shirley May Donna, passed away unexpectedly, on July 11, 2020 in London, Ontario at the age of 58. 

Survived by her loving husband William “Bill” Burleigh. Mother of 4 wonderful children, Steve Long (Vanessa), David Long (Kathleen), Christopher Burleigh (Katie) and Sabrina Burleigh (Dan). Step-mother of Kenneth Megginson. Nana of Larissa Long, Megan Lampman-Long, Sean Long, Sara Burleigh, the late Aiden Burleigh, Jacob Burleigh, Kaydance Burleigh, and Tahlia Burleigh. 

She was born March 21, 1962 in Sault Ste. Marie, to the late Donald Lewis and Mary (Swanson) and step-father the late Ed Catling . Beloved sister of Sylvia Sherwood (Frederick) and Carol Gloster. Step-sister of the late Wayne (Seija) Catling, Debra (the late Randall) Forbes and the late Kevin Catling. 

Predeceased by maternal grandparents, William and Leona (Lindstedt) Swanson and by paternal grandparents, George Lewis and Mary (Bennett) Smith and step-grandfather Robert Smith. Predeceased by William’s parents, Earl and Muriel (Wolfe) Burleigh. 

Daughter-in-law of Robert Long and the late Sonia (Therrien). 

Sister-in-law of Terry-Lynn Wolfe, the late Donald Burleigh (Ann), Robert Burleigh (Marsha), Andrew Burleigh, Michael Long (Trudy) and Lori-Ann Long (Roy). Also survived by "first husband" Steven Long. 

Shirley will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and large extended family and friends.

As per Shirley's wishes: Cremation has taken place, Shirley and Bill will be reunited together. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
