Dear Stephanie,
Your Mom was my grade 5 teacher at Northridge Public School in 1965-1967. She was such a quiet and gentle lady, and made quite an impact on me.
I recall when your Mom announced that she was getting married. She threw a class party and we ate goodies, sang songs and did some group dances, with your Mom at the lead. It was a great day! Your mom was smiling from ear to ear that day!
In the summer of 1972, we were camping as a family at Cape Croker Campground and we bumped into your, mom, dad and I think you as well? Your parents had already discovered this gem of a Campground in past years, and they told us about the history of the area.
Stephanie, I met you again, when we were both Educators at Sir Winston Churchill Public School.
Your Mom was a wonderful lady and I have so many special memories of her.
Please know that I am sending you condolences and strength.

Maisie was a Lady through and through. She always had time for a chat. Maisie was kind and thoughtful. I never heard Maisie raise her voice. She might disagree with something but she chose to say nothing rather than something else. I loved that Maisie was so active - skating, skiing, travelling all over. Her sense of adventure was awesome. We were lucky enough to room together in Austin, Texas during a DKG Convention. She was a great, very neat, accommodating roommate. She will certainly be missed!

Aunt Maisie held a wealth of knowledge and I so admired her for her adventurous spirit. Her travels around the globe were an inspiration. I know how much you will miss your Mum, Stephanie, but you are so much like her and I'm sure you will carry on her joy of exploring the world. Thinking of you in your sorrow but knowing you will find comfort in so many wonderful memories of time spent with your Mum and Dad.

I have fond memories of Maisie playing tennis on their court on Linwood Street. The court later became to site of her home. Maisie was always pleasant and graceful. She was a great influence on many lives and will be sorely missed.

Maisie and I were on the teaching staff at Northridge PS in the late ‘60’s. Maisie was a very hard working teacher who cared greatly for the students in her classes. As well, Maisie was full of life and always upbeat plus being a real go-getter. On social occasions it was always interesting to join in conversations with Maisie and John. My sincere condolences to Maisie’s family and thank you Maisie, for good memories of a time long past.

Stephanie, your mother was an amazing woman. When I came to London in 1966 to teach Maisie was well known among teachers in London and highly admired. We later reconnected through the LondonSkating Club and I was pleased to present her The Love of Skating award a few years ago. Please accept my deepest condolences. Maisie’s life was fully lived and very meaningful. Linda Taylor.

Condolences to the entire family of Maisie. She was my Girl Guide leader many many years ago and I always looked up to her as a role model. I never forgot her, and recognized her photo right away in the newspaper even though I did not know her married name. She still looked the same! We were also neighbours on Linwood Street. (Balch family). The world has lost a great lady.

Dear Stephanie,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mother, Maisie. I remember both you parents from many moons ago when I was a child at the London skating club. They were lovely people and enjoyed a friendship with my parents, George and Jacque Yelland.
I remember how thrilled they were when they married and you were born.
May your many memories help in some small way to bring you comfort.
With sympathy and caring,
Susan Kaye(Yelland)

Maisie Allen was a wonderful person. Wonderful for her husband John and wonderful for daughter Stephanie. In our Ice dancing crowd of often loud revellers, Maisie and John were maybe quieter but instinctively knew when and how to best join in and be revellers themselves and when to quietly help with whatever was needed without needing to be asked. The picture here of the two of them on the ice all dressed up is how I and so many other adult ice dancers will remember how they willingly and openly participated in our fun-loving pastime. Maisie, John, and Stephanie together attended almost every regional adult ice dance weekend over almost three decades while cementing strong and lasting friendships with so, so many along the way. My sincere condolences to you Stephanie on your huge loss of first your Dad and now your Mom. They will be remembered and they will be missed. Sincerely, Richard Crowder

Our condolences to Stephanie during this sad time.
Carol remembers just a couple of years ago seeing a spry Maisie, come out of the cathedral and hop into their jeep.
I had the honour of working with Maisie on our archival artefacts, especially the retired consecrated military Colours. Maisie was a wealth of knowledge and I believe that she had forgotten more about Cathedral history than most of us knew. Maisie cared deeply about protecting our artefacts for posterity. She always made time with a smile for any question which I posed and on the rare occasion when she didn't have an immediate answer, she researched and got back with the info required. Her memory when I last saw her could be best described as 'encyclopedic' on all matters regarding our archives. I recall four years ago at our Cathedral display for Doors Open when some little boy who had just consumed a treat with very sticky fingers tried to open an ancient bible on display at Maisie's religious artefacts table. The lad didn't get very far, as some stern but kind words focused his attention elsewhere.
Carol and I will miss Maisie, her upbeat conversations, and her archival abilities with our many artefacts.
